As an auspicious prelude to the big game Saturday, the second team won the morning battle over the Princeton scrubs, 6 to 0, on the old Princeton Field. The only score of the contest came in the latter part of the second period after a series of steady drives through the Princeton line and dodging short and runs by Murray.
The touchdown was scored on a trick play. By massing on one side of the line, the seconds got the Tigers all out.
coupled with the poor offense work of the University players was the chief factor in the University's defeat. The poor offensive, however, was partially offset by the effective work of the University's defense men, who managed to keep the score down within reasonable limits.
Princeton's first goal came in the opening period from a pass from Bird to Ross, and the other two by Bird on passed from Weller, who was easily the star for Princeton. Jennies, Moffat, Emmons, and Weld carried off the stellar honors for the University team.
