The final count of the collection, taken up between the halves of the Yale game last Saturday resulted in the total of $11,537.39. The object of the contribution as announced at that time, was for "The War Sufferers in Europe," and the actual distribution of the funds has just been made public by the committee in charge, composed of President Lowell, Dean Briggs, and Major Higginson '55.

The sum of $4,000 will go to the American Ambulance Field Service in France; $4,000 to the Harvard Medical Unit now on its way to a British Base Hospital; and the remaining $3,537.39 to the New England Belgium Relief Fund.

The University has already contributed much to the first two of these undertakings, by the work of the graduates and undergraduate volunteers. In the Ambulance Service over fifty members of the University have been engaged, as drivers, since the start of the war. The work consists of carrying the wounded from the front to the field hospitals.

The Medical Unit which has recently sailed, is the second to be organized under the leadership and inspiration of members of the Medical School. The first party volunteered for six months and on the expiration of their term, this second expedition has been sent out.

In addition to this sum, $1,300 was contributed by the spectators at the Battery A vs. First Corps Cadets game in the Stadium Thursday towards the support of the American Ambulance Service in France.
