CROSS-COUNTRY TEAM EASILY SUPERIOR TO M. I. T. SQUAD

Defeated Opponents in Close Practice Meet Saturday But No Points Were Counted.

At the practice cross-country meet with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology the University team was clearly superior, although no points were counted. The race was close throughout the whole six miles. Brown, the star technology runner, was closely followed by K. E. Fuller '16 until the final spurt which put Brown over the finishing line well in the lead. The University team showed a wealth of excellent runners while the Technology team depended for its strength on individual stars. The order of the finish of the first ten men is as follows: Brown (T.), K. E. Fuller '16, Guething (T.), G. A. King '18, McVicar (T.), A. R. Bancroft '17, W. P. Whitehouse '17, R. T. Twitchell '16, C. J. North '17, R. S. Cook '17.

The meet between the Freshmen and Providence Technology resulted in a victory for the visitors, the score being 25 to 30. Five men on each side qualified. The order of finish was: J. D. Hutchinson, Dorsey (T.), Fort (T.), Marshall (T.), J. Kelton, Wood (T.), C. G. Swan, J. W. Greene, C. W. Lippitt, Barba (T.).
