AMHERST SENDS STRONG TEAM

RECORD OF BASEBALL NINE GIVES EVIDENCE OF UNUSUAL STRENGTH.

With five contests won in eight games played the Amherst nine will face the University baseball team on Soldiers Field this afternoon at 3 o'clock.

Amherst's strength is well shown by the fact that Georgetown was beaten by them early in the season. Wesleyan and Tufts are other strong teams which the visitors have defeated. Catholic University, which Harvard defeated on the Southern trip, accounted for one of the three defeats Amherst has suffered.

Only one change will be made in the Harvard line-up, and the batting order will be the same as in the Colby game. Mahan will lead again, and will play in left field, in place of Hardwick. Frye or Hitchcock will pitch.

The batting orders:
