The Class Boat Races are scheduled for this afternoon. Time was when this event was the occasion of the gayest scene of the year along the Boston river front; in those days each class hired some kind of a craft which was suitably decorated, on which the greatest enthusiasm prevailed. Though the races are today shorn of some of their external glory their real value remains. They are still a part of the broadening tendency toward general athletics.
