The new music building, which is situated back of Lawrence Hall, will probably be completed by the first of June. The ground floor of the building contains several recitation rooms and the second story is devoted to a large auditorium with seating capacity for five hundred and seventy-eight. The second floor will also contain a library of books dealing with the subject of music.
The exterior of the building is now completed and the work on the interior finish far advanced. The construction is fire-proof with concrete floor and terracotta partitions. The roof, however, is of wood.
It is probable that all music courses in the University together with musical recitals will take place in the new building when it is completed.
