CHRISTMAS IN CAMBRIDGE.

Christmas receptions and entertainments cannot entirely compensate for the inability to spend the holidays at home. The good will which prompts them, however, and do much towards giving those who must remain in Cambridge over the recess a breath of the Christmas spirit. No less than four entertainments have been arranged for such students. On Christmas Eve President and Mrs. Lowell will receive members of the University at their home; on Christmas night, Phillips Brooks House will keep open house; on December 28, the Harvard Club of Boston will hold a smoker for undergraduates at the club house; and on New Year's Day, a University tea will be given in Phillips Brooks House. With such a variety of entertainments, Cambridge will be at least tolerable during the holidays.
