The Pierian Sodality orchestra will open its one hundred and seventh season with trials for new men on Wednesday and Thursday evenings of next week. All members of the University are eligible to membership in the orchestra, and particularly all Freshmen who play any orchestral instrument are asked to report at the trials.
The policy of the orchestra will remain practically the same as in former seasons, the first part of the year being devoted to the lighter forms of musical composition, the second half to work of a more serious nature. A series of "pop" concerts will be given in and around Boston, and the annual concert in April will close the season. This year Mr. Eugene Modeste Alloo of the Boston Symphony Orchestra will act as adviser and assistant to the conductor, E. H. Barry '15.
