Rovers Defeated Pilgrims 7 to 1

The Harvard Rovers defeated the Pilgrims of Boston in a somewhat onesided game yesterday afternoon by the score of 7 to 1. Neither team batted hard, but the Rovers took advantage of nearly all their opportunities to score. They began their scoring in the first inning. Ames was safe on an error, stole second, and came home when the Pilgrim's catcher threw wild to first after missing Gannett's third strike. Gannett took second on the play, went to third on a passed ball, and scored on Frye's bunt.

The Pilgrims made their run in the fifth on an infield hit, two bunts, and a sacrifice fly. In the sixth the Rovers scored on a walk, a steal, a fielder's choice, and an error. The Rovers lined up as follows: Ames, l.f.; Gannett, r.f.; Ayres, 3b.; Frye, c.f., p., O'Day, Ashley, 1b.; Winlock, Glennon, 2b,; Bernson, s.s.; Harte, c., l.f., Waterman, c.; Cummings, p.
