The fall tennis tournament for the University championship in singles begins this afternoon at 2 o'clock on Jarvis and Soldiers Fields. Courts will be reserved, and no charge will be made for them, but contestants must furnish their own balls. Matches will be for the best two out of three sets. Contestants must appear within half an hour of the appointed time or be defaulted. Scores must be posted on the score-card at the field before 6 o'clock or both contestants will be defaulted. No men on probation may compete.

Entries for the doubles close tomorrow evening at 6 o'clock. Blue-books are in Leavitt & Peirce's and the Ren- degvous, the entry fee being $1 per team.
