Nineteen new candidates for the Freshman football team reported at Soldiers Field yesterday afternoon bringing the total up to 94. Coach Chatfield and his assistants gave the men a thorough drilling in fundamentals. There was no signal drill or scrimmaging.
Among the new candidates who reported were: J. Baker, a linesman from St. Paul's E. W. Duggan, a linesman of two years's experience at Milford High; G. B. Emmons, an end of three years' experience at Volkmann's; G. Hart, a guard and centre from New Bedford High; D. Hoffman, and from East Boston High; L. M. Rice, an end of two years' experience at Noble and Greenough's; G. A. Sagar, a back from Andover; M. Wharton, who was left guard for two years at the Chestnut Hill Academy; P. B. Fuller, fullback from Milton Academy; W. J. Boles, quarterback for the past three years at Boston Latin School; and J. Gazzen, an end from St. Paul's.
