The University tennis team won from Dartmouth by the score of 5 to 1 on Jarvis Field yesterday afternoon. The playing was somewhat slow due to the wind and dust. As a rule the matches were closely contested and in only two cases did the winner gain straight sets.
Singles.--E. H. Whitney '14 defeated Nelson 6-4, 1-6, 6-1; W. M. Washburn, Jr., '15 defeated Webber, 6-3, 6-0; E. R. Hastings, Jr., '14 defeated Hugus, 6-1, 6-0; Nutt defeated E. H. Woods '14, 4-6, 7-5, 6-1.
Doubles.--E. H. Whitney '14 and W. M. Washburn, Jr., '15 defeated Nelson and Nutt, 2-6, 6-2, 6-3: E. R. Woods '14 and A. J. Lowrey '13 defeated Webber and Hugus, 6-4, 3-6, 6-2.
