The University lacrosse team defeated Stevens on Soldiers Field Saturday by the score of 9 to 3. The University team showed marked improvement over its playing on the southern trip, and the outcome of the contest was at no time doubtful.
The University offence played well together. Nightingale and Foristall displayed clever stick work, while Eaton's shots at the goal were especially accurate. The defence, though weakened by injuries on the southern trip, held the Stevens forward line well, Churchill doing particularly good work in spoiling many attempts to score. At the end of the first half the University led, 3 to 2, and in the second half broke through Stevens' defence for six more goals.
Second Team Defeated.
Following the league game the Boston Lacrosse Club, composed of former Harvard players, defeated the University second team, 10 to 3.
