SECOND PRINCETON GAME

Hockey Team to Meet Tigers in New York Tomorrow--Good Form Shown in Practice Yesterday.

In a short but lively scrimmage lasting about 15 minutes, the University hockey team defeated the B. A. A. yesterday by the score of 2 to 0. At first the University team had difficulty in getting the puck away from its own goal, the opponents breaking up the plays before they were fairly started. Later, however, the team play became more steady, and the University clearly outclassed the B. A. A., keeping the puck continually in safe territory.

The first goal was made by Phillips from scrimmage. The same player also caged the second on a long shot from the side, the puck being brought into striking distance by fast team-work.

Short as it was, yesterday's practice was highly encouraging. The team seemed to have recovered almost entirely from the listlessness displayed in the Dartmouth game, and showed a great amount of snap and vigor. The forwards kept together well, exhibiting both speed and headwork in rushing and following back. All the players were quick to cover their men, and avoided the corners. On the whole, the team seems in top condition for tomorrow's game, and can be depended upon to put up a stiff game against Princeton.

Following the first team, the seconds held a 20-minute scrimmage with the B. A. A. which resulted in a 1 to 1 tie. The work of the latter had become ragged, but the seconds failed to use many of the numerous openings to advantage.

Most of the squad will leave for New York from the South Station at 10.03 o'clock this morning, the remainder departing tomorrow afternoon. The men will stay at the Hotel Cumberland, and will hold their final sessions of practice in preparation for the game with Princeton at the St. Nicholas rink.
