Mr. Alfred Noyes, the celebrated English poet, and Professor Ernest von Dobschutz, of the University of Halle-Wittenberg, are soon to begin courses of free public lectures at the Lowell Institute, the former to give eight lectures on "The Sea in English Poetry," on Mondays and Thursdays at 8 P. M., beginning November 10, and the latter to give eight lectures on "The Influence of the Bible on Civilization," on Tuesdays and Fridays at 8 P. M., beginning November 11.
Although admission is free, it is by ticket only, and in order to secure a desirable seat, application should be addressed as soon as possible to the Curator of the Lowell Institute, 491 Boylston street, Boston, accompanied by stamped addressed envelope for each course to which the ticket is desired. Persons attending the first lecture of any course may, just before entering the hall, exchange their admission tickets for reserved-seat course-tickets.
