The award of the Scholarship of the Class of 1867, the Mary L. Whitney Scholarship and the Thomas Hall Scholarship, all three for Freshmen in Harvard College, will be made shortly after the beginning of the second half-year. Freshmen who have already applied for Price Greenleaf Aid at the second assignment will be considered without further action on their part. All other Freshmen wishing to become applicants must apply on forms which may be obtained at the office of the Secretary, Mr. J. G. Hart, University 20. Applications, accompanied by the necessary certificates from parents or guardians, must be left at University 20 before January 22.
The Thomas Hall Scholarship will be awarded for the first time this year. It was recently established under a gift of $10,000 from Mrs. Thomas Hall, in memory of her son, Thomas Hall, Jr., '93, the income to be awarded to a member or members of the Freshman class. Thomas Hall, Jr., was for several years an instructor in English in the University and a faithful and efficient adviser to Freshmen.
In awarding the Scholarship of the Class of 1867 preference will be given to children or grandchildren of members of that class.
Two Joseph Eveleth Scholarships for Special Students will also be awarded soon after the beginning of the second half-year, provided applications are received from deserving men by January 22. Blank forms of application may be obtained at University 20.
