LIGHT WORK AT RED TOP

University Crews Took Morning and Afternoon Row at an Easy Stroke. Course rough.

Harvard Crew Quarters, Red Top, New London, Conn., June 4.--Fairly easy work both morning and afternoon was the order for all the University crews today. The University eight in the morning rowed about a mile and a half down stream and took the first half-mile of the return at a fairly high stroke, paddling the rest of the way back to the quarters. The fours and Freshman eights took short paddles.

In the afternoon the University crew rowed down over the full four miles in the face of a brisk wind, which made the upper part of the course fairly rough. The stroke was kept at about 26 until near the finish, when it went up to 36. Trumbull was kept out of the Freshman boat for the afternoon row, but will be back tomorrow. R. F. Herrick '90 visited the quarters today.
