The Freshman baseball team defeated the Pilgrims in a well-contested game Saturday afternoon by the score of 4 to 0. The visitors secured eight hits to the Freshmen's five; but their inability to bunch hits at the proper time, together with the superior team-work of the Freshmen, accounted for the lack of runs. The Pilgrims came closest to scoring in the second inning, when Minot took first on a fielder's choice, was advanced to second by a sacrifice, but was touched out at the plate by Brickley in an attempt to score on Carlisle's single. Each side was credited with three errors, those of the Pilgrims being each responsible for one tally for 1915.
The Freshmen started the scoring in the second. Hardwick singled and was brought home by Ayres on an error by Haydock, Ayres at the same time reaching third. A sacrifice by Frye brought in the second tally. In the fifth, Phillips took first on an error by Simons and scored on a wild throw by Hicks. The final score came in the sixth, when Ayres drove a three-bagger through centre and came home on an error by Haydock.
