The Harvard, Yale, and Princeton freshmen will compete in the annual triangular debate this evening at 8 o'clock. Harvard will defend the negative against Yale in New Lecture Hall, and will argue the affirmative against Princeton at Princeton. The Yale team will at the same time uphold the negative against Princeton at New Haven. The subject for all three debates will be, "Resolved, That the initiative and referendum should be generally adopted in American states." The university whose two teams shall defeat their opponents will be announced the winner. Tickets at 10 cents each for the debate in New Lecture Hall may be obtained at the Rendezvous.

Freshman Team in Cambridge.

In the debate have the Freshmen will be represented by R. E. Shillady, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; B. Woronoff, of Boston; and B. Winkelman, of Philadelphia, Pa., who will speak in the order named. As alternates the negative team will have R. H. Pass, of Syracuse, N. Y., and R. W. Chubb, of St. Louis, Mo. The Yale Freshman debaters will be J. D. Robb, C. E. Martz, G. H. Mika, and as alternate, R. N. Gilman. Each speaker will be allowed twelve minutes for a main speech in which to present his argument, and five minutes for rebuttal. S. F. Withe '14, of Springfield will preside at the debate and the judges have been selected as follows: Professor Charles F. Emerson, Dean of Dartmouth College; Hon. Joseph W. Walker, former Speaker of the Massachusetts House of Representatives; and Hon. Dana Malone, former State Attorney General.

Harvard Affirmative Team at Princeton.

The Harvard affirmative team at Princeton will be W. Berman, of Scranton, Pa., E. R. Roberts, of Cape Girardeau, Mo., and W. a. Cahill, of Cleveland, O., who will speak in the order named. L. G. Burgevin, of Anchorage, Ky., will act as alternate for the affirmative team.

Harvard Speakers Against Yale.

Robert Edwin Shillady, of Colorado Springs, Colo., prepared for College at the Colorado Springs High School. He was a member of the interscholastic debating teams for two years.

Benjamin Woronoff, of Boston, prepared for College at the Boston English High School. He was the winner of the elocution contest there.

Barnie Winkelman, of Philadelphia, Pa., prepared for College at the Philadelphia Central High School, where he won the oratorical contest.

Richard Henry Pass, of Syracuse, N. Y., prepared for College at Hackley School. He was a member of the school debating club.

Robert Walston Chubb, of St. Louis, Mo., prepared for College at the Ethical Culture School, New York, N. Y. He has had no previous experience in debating.

Harvard Speakers Against Princeton.

William Berman, of Scranton, Pa., prepared for College at the Scranton Central High School. This is his first experience in debating.

Edward Reese Roberts, of Cape Girardeau, Mo., prepared for College at the South East Missouri Normal School. He has had no previous experience in debating.

William Ambrose Cahill, of Cleveland, O., prepared for College at Glenville High School, in Cleveland, O. He was a member of the school debating team for two years, and leader of if the last year.
