Lafayette G. Blair '78, a noted lawyer and orator, died at his home in Water town on Saturday morning at 11.45 o'clock. He was born May 8, 1849, in Cumberland. Md. He entered Phillips Exeter Academy in 1870. graduating from there in 1874. He received the degree of A. B. from Harvard in 1878 and afterwards studied law at Boston University, being admitted to the bar in 1881.
Mr. Blair soon became a leading member of the Boston bar and gained a wide reputation as a public speaker. He was also a member of the Boston and Middlesex Bar Associations, the Boston Club, and Harvard Club, and an associate member of the Edward W Kinsley Post, G: A. R.
