At a meeting of the Debating Council held yesterday, the following subject was chosen for the Pasteur Medal debate for this year: "French Experience in the Administration of Railroads." Any phase of the subject may be treated.

The first trials will be held on Wednesday, December 18, at 7.30 o'clock, and all men desiring to enter should send their names to A. A. Berle, Jr., '13, Hollis 4. Entries will close December 14. At the trials men will be allowed to speak five minutes only, but in the final competition the speeches will be ten minutes in length. In judging these speeches, not only logic and clear presentation of the subject, but also the general knowledge, manner of delivery, and the literary style of the competitor will be considered.

The Pasteur Medal Prize was founded in 1898 by Baron Piere do Coubertin, to be awarded to the best speaker in an annual debate on a subject drawn from contemporary French politics.
