CROSS-COUNTRY RUN TODAY

INTERCOLLEGIATES AT CORNELL THIS MORNING.--HARVARD TEAM FAVORITE.

The fourteenth annual intercollegiate cross-country run will be held over the six-mile course at Ithaca this morning at 10.30 o'clock. Each of the twelve teams entered will be composed of seven men, the first five to finish scoring. The positions will count according to their numerical place, and the team with the smallest score will win.

The University team defeated Cornell at Ithaca on November 2 by the score of 52 to 55, and should be able to repeat the performance today, with an even better average time. Cornell has won twelve of the thirteen runs, beating the University team last year by the score of 48 to 58. Yale is the only other college which has secured a first place. The University has entered teams since 1902, and has captured second place four times, third once and fourth and fifth twice each.

J. P. Jones, who won the Harvard dual race with Cornell on November 2, will probably be the individual winner again today, but he will be hard pressed by F. W. Copeland '13, Captain H. P. Lawless '13, and R. St. B. Boyd '14. N. S. Taber, of Brown, is expected to finish well up in the race, perhaps in fifth place. He took sixth place in the intercollegiate run at Brookline last year.

Yale Team Below Average.

That Yale will not figure in the running today was indicated by the miserable showing her team made against the University team two weeks ago, and Princeton has been badly beaten by Yale. While the Dartmouth team won the New England intercolelgiates last week, it will probably find itself in too fast company today. The other colleges to run are Pennsylvania, Brown, Colgate, Columbia, College of the City of New York; M. I. T., and Syracuse.

The University men have all run at Ithaca, over what is practically the same course that will be used today. The team is in excellent condition.

The following men will run for the University: F. H. Blackman '14, R. St. B. Boyd '14, B. S. Carter '15, F. W. Copeland '13, A. J. de Gozzaldi '14, H. P. Lawless '13, and H. G. MacLure '15. Coach Shrubb, and managers W. Tufts, Jr., '13, and C. G. Squibb '14 are in charge of the team at Ithaca.
