DORMITORY CREWS TO REPORT

FALL ROWING FOR FRESHMEN ALSO TO BEGIN THIS AFTERNOON.

Candidates for dormitory crews should report for practice at the Weld Boat House today at 3.30. Coach Stephenson will take charge of the squads and will make up as evenly matched crews as possible. No experience whatever is necessary and every man will be given opportunity to row on one of the crews.

Bumping Races Next Month.

The customary Fall bumping races will come off in about a month. This is later than last year, and makes the date for the graded crew races which last year followed the bumping matches uncertain. The crews will compete for the Filley Cup, given by B. A. G. Fuller in the Fall of 1906 as a perpetual challenge cup for encouraging secondary rowing in the University.

Freshman Rowing.

All candidates intending to try for the Freshman crew are to report at the Newell Boat House this afternoon at 3.30. The Fall rowing program will then be outlined. Greater importance will be laid on the Fall practice than heretofore, and work will begin at once.

University Crews Progressing.

The fall rowing of the University crews which started last week has been very encouraging so far. Three trial eights were selected by Coach Wray on the first day and, with one or two exceptions, the boats rowed in the same order during the entire week. Coach Wray will continue to devote a large part of his time to the University eights but will also oversee the Freshmen. Coach Stevenson will also assist in coaching the Freshmen although he will have complete charge of the dormitory crews and will be at the Weld Boat House every day during the novice rowing season.
