The Japan Society of New York offers a prize of $100 for the best essay by a student in any department of the University upon some subject relating to Japan. The manuscripts submitted will be at the disposal of the society in case it wishes to publish them. Essays are to be not less than two thousand or more than five thousand words in length and must be delivered to the Secretary of the Faculty on or before May 1, 1913. The prize is offered through the generosity of Mr. Rioichiro Arai, of the New York Society.
