LIGHT PRACTICE YESTERDAY

Special Attention Paid to Defence Against Forward Passes.

Following the rule for Monday practice, the work of the University football squad was light yesterday afternoon. Several men of the regular line-up were absent on account of slight injuries or because of their need of a rest after the Williams game. Some time was spent by the coaches in a talk on Saturday's game, and then the men went on the field for a half-hour of elementary drill, the linesmen under Coaches L. and P. Withington, the ends under Coach Leary, and the backs under Coaches Daly and Wigglesworth. Two teams were assembled and a short scrimmage gone through in which the coaches gave particular attention to stopping forward passes such as were used in the Williams game on Saturday. In the absence of Storer, T. Frothingham played left tackle, while Brickley's place at fullback was filled by Bradlee.

The line-up:

Team A.--H. Frothingham, l.c.; T. Frothingham, l.t.; Pennock, l.g.; Parmenter, c.; F. Withington, r.g.; Hitchcock, r.t.; Hollister, r.e.; Gardner, q.b.; Wendell, l.h.b.; H. Hardwick, r.h.b.; Bradlee, f.b.

E. R. McCall '13, of Winterset, Iowa, has been appointed captain of the second University football team.
