The twenty-sixth annual Harvard interscholastic track meet will be held in the Stadium this afternoon at 2.30 o'clock. First place will count five points, second three, and third one. Medals will be awarded to the winners of the first three places. The school winning the largest number of points will have the privilege of holding for one year the trophy cup offered by the Boston Athletic Association and Harvard graduates. Exeter Academy, which won the meet last year, is now holding the cup. A permanent trophy offered by the Harvard Athletic Association will be awarded to the winning team.
The Union will be open to all contestants after 11 o'clock this morning and there will be some one there to answer questions. Luncheon, at 50 cents, will be served for those who wish it. After the meet, at 5.30 o'clock, a dinner will be given the competitors in the Assembly Room of the Union. H. L. Gaddis '12 will preside and speeches will be made by R. T. Fisher '12, R. C. Floyd '11, R. C. Foster '11, and L. Withington, Jr., '11. At the dinner W. F. Garcelon L.'95 will present the medals to the point winners.
Worcester Academy seems to be the most likely winner, with Exeter a probable second. The latter team will be weakened to some extent as a few of its best men are over the age limit.
The 23 schools represented in the meet are: Andover, Arlington High, Boston Latin, Brookline High, Classical School, Dedham High, English High, Exeter, Fitchburg High, High School of Commerce, Hyde Park High, Lawrence High, Lynn English High, Mechanics Arts High, Medford High, Melrose High, Newbury High, Newton High, Plymouth High, Springfield High, St. Mark's School, Tilton Seminary, and Worcester Academy.
Tickets, at 50 cents each, may be procured at Leavitt & Peirce's; tickets to the meet admit only at the Locker Building gate.
