Hon. George Alvin Loud, congressman from the tenth district of Michigan, will deliver an illustrated lecture on "The Panama Canal" in Emerson J this afternoon at 4.30 o'clock.
Congressman Loud has been a member of the Committee on Naval Affairs of the House since 1903. He was one of the two civilians present at the battle of Manila Bay and Cavite, when Admiral Dewey destroyed the Spanish fleet. Mr. Loud was also a member of the party which accompanied President Taft on his tour of the Philippine Islands. He has made several trips to the Canal Zone, and is thoroughly acquainted with the work on the Panama Canal.
