The Football Song Committee has selected the following new songs to be sung at the Yale game: "Onward to the Goal," words and music by F. R. Hancock '12; "Harvard Spirit," words by R. B. Ladoo '14, music by R. L. Blaikie '14; "For Harvard," to the tune of "Dixie," words by K. W. Snyder '14; "The Eli Pup," to the tune of "When Johnny Comes Marching Home," words by J. G. Gilkey '12.
The words of the last-named song, which has not been tried before, are as follows, and should be learned before the mass meeting this evening:
Oh, Eli has brought a pup to fight Today--today.
We'll tie him in his cage tonight, Hooray--Hooray.
And when he watches the way we score
He never will bother us any more,
And we'll give a cheer when the puppy goes limping home.
And we'll give a cheer when the puppy goes limping home.
