The method of assigning seats in the Stadium for the Yale game on Saturday is given below. The centre of the field is section 32. Sections 33 and 31 are on the 40-yard line, sections 30 and 34 are on the 30-yard line, sections 35 and 29 are on the 20-yard line, sections 28 and 36 are on the 10-yard line.
The seats assigned to the University team and coaches are all in the concrete seats in sections 30 and 31. The seats assigned to the second squad and Freshman squad are in sections 30 and 31. Former football players who won their "H" are in sections 30 and 34. Varsity Club members are in sections 30 and 32 (single seats), 29 and 34. The class of '79 is in sections 29 and 35, concrete seats. The undergraduates applying for one seat, who constitute group 1A, of whom there are 400, are all in the concrete seats in section 32, the centre section. This is the cheering section. The graduates applying for one seat, who number 775, are placed 200 in section 32 and 575 in section 33. Professional school students and graduates of these schools asking for one seat, who number 479, are in sections 33 and 34.
Group 2 A, which consists of Seniors and Juniors asking for two seats, is in the concrete seats in sections 28, 35, and 36, and in the wooden seats in sections 29, 30, and 31. The next group consists of graduates of the College who have applied for two seats each. They have asked for approximately 12,600 tickets. About a third of these tickets are for seats within the goal-lines. After those seats were filled the concrete seats in sections 26, running back to section 16, were filled, with two rows of the wooden seats in front, and two rows of seats in the parapet. Then seats were assigned in the wooden seats in front of sections 37, and the rear seats under the roof along the centre of the field. Thus the College graduates asking for two seats have the following sections: the wooden seats in front of sections 37 and 28, the seats in the parapet (under the roof) in sections 27-37 inclusive, and the seats in sections 16 to 27, inclusive.
The groups following these, which consist of Freshmen and Sophomores asking for two seats each, school students, and school graduates asking for two seats each, who altogether have applied for approximately 7500 seats, have been filled, as far as possible, from a few seats that are left in the Stadium, and from the wooden stands at the end of the field.
