Rev. Arthur Henderson Smith, D.D., LL.D., of Tientsin, China, will give the first of a course of six lectures entitled "The Present Crisis in the Chinese Empire" in Room A of the Andover Theological Seminary Building this afternoon at 4.30 o'clock. This course is one of two given on the Hyde Foundation in the Andover Theological Seminary; the second course, by the Rev. George Frederick Herrick, D.D., of Constantinople, on "Religious Conditions and Problems of the Turkish Empire," will be given between December 6 and 13. The subject for the lecture this afternoon is "The Predisposing Causes of the Present Revolution in China." It will be open to the public.
