L. Withington, Jr., '11, was on the field early yesterday afternoon and gave the Freshman linemen individual coaching in breaking through, while Coach Clifford worked with the ends and H. F. Corbett '11 had charge of the backs. The candidates were divided into two squads. One squad went through a hard siege at the dummies, and the other was given practice in running down under kicks. Brickley and Hardwick tried punts and showed good form, Hardwick especially getting off long spirals of 45 and 50 yards.
Late in the afternoon the first teams of both squads lined up for a hard 15-minute scrimmage in which Brickley scored a goal for Team A after he had intercepted a forward pass.
The game with Morris Heights School, which was scheduled for today has been cancelled.
