"The Scarecrow" by Percy MacKaye '97, the play which was produced by the Dramatic Club as its fall play in 1909, is being given this week at the Tremont Theatre, Boston. Tonight will be Harvard Night and a special section has been reserved for members of the Dramatic Club. There are a few seats left in this section which may be obtained by members of the University for $1.50 at the box-office.
This is the first time that "The Scarecrow" has been presented by the present company. Henry B. Harris secured the dramatic rights and is now starring Edmund Breese in the play. Mr. Breese has the role of Dickon, whom the author describes as "a Yankee improvisation of the devil" and gives a very sardonically humorous and picturesque interpretation of the part.
The role of the Scarecrow will be acted by Frank Reicher, the son of the famous German actor, Ferdinand Reicher. Miss Alice Fischer is Mr. Breese's leading woman and she will be seen as Goody Rickey, the witch.
