The preliminary round of the scrub baseball series was continued on Soldiers Field yesterday afternoon. The Midnight Sons defeated the Sardines by the score of 5 to 4, and the Bush Leaguers defeated the Epsom Salts by the score of 19 to 3. The two winning teams have qualified for the round robin series.
This afternoon, at 4 o'clock the Jeffs will play the Mutts on the diamond north of the Freshman diamond, and the Blackhanders will play the Prickly Heats on the second team diamond.
As only one diamond will be available tomorrow afternoon for the scrub series, the two games will both be played on the diamond north of the Freshman diamond at the following hours: Squabs vs., Prospect Union at 2.30 o'clock, and Nine Muses vs. Wanderers at 4 o'clock.
