The annual financial statement of the Graduate Treasurer of the Athletic Association shows numerous variations from the table of the preceding year. The first item, "Care of Buildings and Grounds" varies usually very little from year to year. It is slightly larger this year owing to the reclaiming of part of Soldiers Field and the building of the lacrosse field.
The chief cause for the varied expense of the baseball and football teams is the difference in the schedules from year to year. In the past few years more attention has been paid to the minor sports than formerly which accounts for the steady increase in expenditure for these teams. Additional coaching and care of the Freshman teams has also resulted in an increase in the expense of these teams.
The subscriptions for 1908-09 were less than in former years, $4278 was subscribed for the University teams, $3033 for the Freshman teams, making a total of $7311 subscribed. These subscriptions will probably be even smaller next year.

May 14-Providence Golf Club at Providence.
May 18-Allston Golf Club at Allston.
May 25-Wollaston Golf Club at Wollaston.
May 28-Oakley Country Club at Belmont.
Mr. Garcelon L.'95 and Dean Briggs '75 were chosen as delegates to the meeting of the Association of New England Colleges for conference in regard to athletics, to be held at the City Club, Boston, on May 13. Mr. Garcelon was authorized to spend $2,500 for instruction in, and encouragement of, minor sports, and the baseball team was authorized to leave for Princeton on May 12.
