Gymnastic Team Defeated Amherst

The University gymnastic team easily defeated Amherst in a dual meet in the Hemenway Gymnasium last evening, by the score of 43 to 11.

Despite the absence of Captain E. L. Souder '10, who was unable to compete, Harvard won first place in every event. Amherst was handicapped by the smallness of the team, and only one man was entered in the horizontal bar and the parellel bars.

For Harvard, H. V. Coryell '11 did the best work, winning 14 points. S. Wolfman '11 was second with 10 points. For Amherst, W. W. Goodnow excelled.

Horizontal bar.--Won by H. V. Coryell '11; second, F. N. Whitman '12; third, L. E. Wakelee, Amherst.

Parallel bars.--Won by S. Wolfman '11; second, E. G. Schauroth '10; third, M. P. Shoop, Amherst.

Indian clubs.--Tie between R. V. Moody '10 and H. V. Coryell '11; third, E. S. Whitten, Amherst.

Flying rings.--Won by S. Wolfman '11; second, H. R. Rafsky '10; third, R. B. Whitelaw '11.

Tumbling.--Won by E. N. Cleaves '11; second, A. W. Hubbard, Amherst; third, L. E. Wakelee, Amherst.
