Second Debating Trials Last Night

At the second trials for the University debating teams to represent Harvard in the triangular debate with Yale and Princeton on March 21, held in Sever 11 last evening, the following twelve men were retained: on the affirmative--J. deM. Ellis 2L., C. B. Randall '12, H. H. Breeland '12, F. Stern '12, J. E. Cates '10, H. Ehrmann '12; on the negative--C. S. Collier '11, F. W. Sullivan '10, G. I. Lewis 2L., H. Potter '10, E. R. Burke 2L., T. M. Gregory '10. The judges were S. Curtis '05, A. H. Elder '07, R. W. Kelso '04, A. P. Stone '93.

The final trials will be held Monday night at 7.30 o'clock in Sever 11. At that time each man will be allowed ten minutes for his main speech and five minutes for rebuttal on the subject for the triangular debate: "Resolved, That the federal government should have power to impose an income tax not apportioned among the states according to population." The men will speak in the order in which they are named above. Six men will be retained to compose the two University teams.
