To the Editors of the CRIMSON:
The rowing enthusiasm of the Freshman class, judged by the squad which reported at the Newell boathouse yesterday afternoon for the opening of the season, is far inferior to that of previous classes. Both in total number, and in promising men is the material deficient.
Lack of experience should not cause any man to hesitate. Come out--the coaches will devote their attention to all, whether experienced or inexperienced. The class of 1913 can certainly produce better material. If the standard of this year's Freshman crew is to equal that of previous years, more promising men must be available, to permit a wider latitude of selection. J. E. WAID '10.
