President Eliot received on Saturday the honorary degree of Doctor of Laws from Tulane University of Louisiana, at a meeting of students and alumni held to commemorate the twenty-fifth anniversary of its foundation. President Eliot delivered the principal address on "Public Virtue, Public Spirit and the Motive Behind Applying Private Property to Public Uses."
Today the President goes to Montgomery, Ala., and from there will continue to Birmingham.
