The University association football team defeated Princeton at Princeton yesterday afternoon by the score of 1 to 0. The game was close and exciting throughout, but, owing to a high wind, the shooting of both teams was inaccurate. Harvard's defence was especially good and it was chiefly due to their excellent work that the Princeton forwards were unable to score.
In the first half neither team scored, the ball going back and forth between the goals. In the second half Harvard took the aggressive and after twenty minutes of play Fish centered to Vogel, who shot the only goal. Princeton then braced, but, owing to the excellent work of Fahnestock at goal, their forwards were prevented from scoring.
The line-up follows: Score--Harvard, 1; Princeton, 0. Goal--Vogel. Referee--M. J. Taylor. Linesmen--Ashwell, Spaeth.
