Syracuse Defeated by Yale, 15-0

Yale defeated Syracuse last Saturday by the score of 15-0, showing great improvement in every department of the game. Syracuse was unable to make any steady gain, while Yale used both straight football and the forward pass to good advantage.

The first touchdown was the result of a punt which Yale recovered less than ten yards from the Syracuse goal and carried over the line in one play. Just before the close of the half Daly kicked a goal from the field from the 35-yard line. The only score in the second half came from a forward pass, which Vaughan, the Yale end caught on the 10-yard line and carried over for a touch-dawn.

The Yale line-up: l.e., Kilpatrick, Vaughan; l.t., Hobbs; l.g., Cooney; C. Frances; r.g., Goebel; r.t., Lilley; r.e., Logan, Van Sinderen; q.b., Johnson, Howe, Corey; l.h.b., Philbin, Murphy; r.h.b., Daly; f.b., Haines, Field, Deming.
