Noble's Defeated by 1913 Second

Yesterday on Soldiers Field the second Freshman football team defeated the Noble and Greenough eleven by the score of 16 to 0. The game was one-sided from the start, the Freshmen playing remarkably well. Minot's gains at fullback during the first half, and a spectacular touchdown made by Lawson on Noble's fumble were the features of the game. Davis, Minot, and Hardwick showed up well for the Freshmen, and Toppan, Grant, and De Ford played well for Noble's.

The Freshman team made a touchdown in the first few minutes of play, and, though they kept the ball in their opponent's territory during the rest of the half, they failed to score on account of repeated penalties and fumbles. In the second half the Freshmen by occasional spurts managed to score twice again. At no time did the Noble's team show any ability to gain consistently through the Freshmen.
