The University basketball team was defeated by Princeton by the score of 23 to 20 in a closely contested game at Princeton Saturday evening. The game was hard fought throughout and the final result was in doubt until the very end. Both teams lost several good, opportunities of scoring, and the University team showed a tendency to make too long shots for goals.
The first score was made by Veeder for Princeton, but the University team soon gained the lead and at the end of the first half was one point ahead, the score being 11 to 10. Princeton started the second half with a rally, but was unable to get the lead until within the last five minutes of play.
For the University team, Allen and Currie excelled, though the whole team lacked in head-work. For Princeton, Meese and Veeder showed up best.
