In the final trials for the Freshman debating team held last night in Dane Hall the following men were chosen for the first team: J. W. Finkel, of Boston, Mass., D. Haar, of New York, N. Y., and B. S. Ulrich, of Springfield, Ill. The second team is composed of M. W. Cox, G. D. Howie, and W. F. Ryan.
The trials were conducted in the form of a debate on the question, "Resolved, That a National Divorce Law is desirable." Each man spoke for twelve minutes, and gave a five-minute rebuttal. The affirmative side was upheld by B. S. Ulrich, G. D. Howie, and W. F. Ryan, while D. Haar, J. W. Finkel, and M. W. Cox spoke for the negative. The judges were A. H. Elder 1L., W. M. Shohl 3L., and M. C. Leckner 1L.
The first team will hold debates with the second team twice a week until the Yale debate which will be held on April 10, at New Haven.
