[We invite all men in the University to submit communications on subjects of timely interest.]
To the Editors of the CRIMSON:
May I call the attention of the University through your columns to the investigation now being made by the Harvard Dining Association concerning the patronage by the undergraduates of the various dining places in Cambridge, with a view of finding out their needs and wishes, and with the express purpose of discovering some new scheme for carrying on Memorial Hall which will be more acceptable to them?
To make this canvass of any value it will be necessary to secure returns from a large majority of the undergraduates resident in Cambridge. The following means have been adopted for carrying this out: the various dormitories and streets on which students live have been divided into assignments, and these have been taken by members of the hall who have volunteered for the work. Information blanks have been provided, and will be delivered and collected by these men. It is hoped that each man will do his part to make this work complete by filling out the blank carefully when presented.
The directors of the hall would also be glad to receive, either personally or through your columns, any suggestions, especially on the following matters: 1. Should the American plan be adopted at the hall? 2. Should the European plan be adopted at the hall? 3. Are large dining associations desirable at Harvard? 4. What can be done to secure again the patronage of the Faculty? 5. What can be done to secure again the patronage of the club men? CLARENCE C. COLBY 3L., President, H. D. A.
