SENIORS DEFEATED JUNIORS

First Game of Interclass Series Won by Superior Team Work, 6 to 0.

In the first game of the interclass football series played yesterday afternoon, the Seniors defeated the Juniors by the score of 6 to 0. On Monday the Sophomores will play the Freshmen, and the winners of this game will play the Seniors on Wednesday for the class championship.

The Seniors showed better team work and followed the ball more closely than the Juniors did. Brooks at left halfback excelled, and made the only score, intercepting a forward pass and running 70 yards through a broken field for a touchdown. After a successful on side kick which Jordan recovered for the Juniors, Hicks attempted a drop kick from the 30-yard line, which failed.

In the second half the Seniors kept the ball in their opponents' territory but were unable to score. After several exchanges of kicks the 1909 team rushed the ball to the five-yard line where they were held for downs. After the Juniors had kicked out the Seniors reached the 1910 team's three-yard line, where they were again prevented from scoring by the Juniors' stubborn defense.
