The practice of the University football squad yesterday consisted of work on the forward, double and triple pass, in punts and in straight line plays. The squad was divided into two teams with substitutes, each team practicing separately and all men being given their turn in the line-up. Head Coach Crane tried several new plays and was assisted by Coaches Daly, Hall, Leary, and T. Graydon '03, who played fullback in 1902.
Seventeen new men reported, thus bringing the total number of candidates up to 55. D. P. Starr '08, M. L. Newhall '08, J. F. Macdonald '08, and P. C. Lockwood '07, who has returned to college as a senior, were the only "H" men to report. The other candidates were: L. Beard '10, R. D. Chamberlin '08, H. D. Colton '09, G. M. Comstock '09, H. D. Conroy '10, E. W. Fisher '10, J. F. Mabbett '09, B. Moore '08, F. H. Parker '10, A. D. Piper sC, D. Plumb '08, G. Waterbury '10, P. D. Wilson sC.
The first scrimmage of the year will be held on Friday.
