More than 100 men competed in the annual field-day sports, which were held on Soldiers Field yesterday afternoon. Although no records were broken, several of the events were run off in creditable times. The weather was rather chilly, but there was little wind, and the track was in excellent condition.
None of the races were especially interesting. The best exhibition in the track events was made by J.V. Onativia '08, who easily won the 440-yard dash in the good time of 52 3-5 seconds. The 100-yard dash was won by L.H. Bauer '09 in 10 3-5 second. The results of the field events were much below the records made last year.
