Andover defeated the University second baseball team at Andover yesterday afternoon, 5 to 1. Bush was very wild, passing seven men and hitting one, and was unable to hold down the heavy-hitting schoolboys. Belford, Andover's pitcher, struck out twelve men and kept Harvard's hits well scattered, except in the first inning, when singles by Paine and Keefe with two bases on balls scored the second team's only run.
Andover scored three runs in the third after two were out. Merritt singled to right, stole second and scored on Keefe's error on which McIntyre was safe. Reilly scored McIntyre with a long three-bagger to left and crossed the plate on Keefe's second error. Two more runs followed in the fifth through two singles, a base on balls and a fielder's choice.
