The resignation of F. H. Storer '55, as Professor of agricultural chemistry and dean of the Bussey Institution, was accepted at the last meeting of the Corporation, to take effect September 1, 1907. At the same meeting Professor Storer was appointed professor of agricultural chemistry, emeritus, from September 1, and the appointment was consented to by the Board of Overseers last Wednesday.

In addition to his degree of S.B., Professor Storer received the honorary degree of A.M. from the University in 1870. He was professor of general and industrial chemistry at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology between the years 1865-70, and has been professor of agricultural chemistry since 1870 and dean of the Bussey Institution since 1871.

As a teacher, Professor Storer was highly interesting and helpful, because of his wide range of knowledge and his wealon of illustrative material. As an administrator, he was diligent, frugal in expenditure, and especially sympathetic with students whose means and attainments were limited, and whose early opportunities had been few.

The following other appointments were made and consented to: G. W. Pierce '99, assistant professor of physics, and M. A. Potter '95, assistant professor of romance languages for five years from September; H. N. Davis '03, instructor in physics and mathematics, and D. C. Rogers '02, instructor in social ethics, from September 1.
