In preparation for the track carnival tomorrow, preliminary trials in the handicap and novice high hurdle races will be held at 4 o'clock this afternoon on Holmes Field to reduce the number of competitors in these events to four men. The preliminary trials in the novice shot-put and in the novice and handicap high jump will take place in the Gymnasium at the same time, to reduce the number of competitors to eight men in each event. The following men will ofciate at the trials and are requested to be at the Gymnasium at 4 o'clock: judges at finish--W. G. Graves '06, A. S. Cobb '07, M. H. Stone '07; field judges--W. L. Stoddard '07, A. W. Hinkel '08, H. C. Bodman '09, F. P. Farquhar '09, J. A. Locke '09.
The relay team for Dunster-Dunster street-Dana has been arranged as follows: P. C. Lockwood '07, E. G. Reed '08, E. Becker '08, F. R. Leland sC., E. W. Dutton '08, H. P. Swift '09; substitute, N. B. Davis '07.
All men intending to enter any of the events in the carnival, who have not yet seen Dr. Sargent, must be examined by him today. Contrary to the previous announcement, an examination will be required for the men on the tug-of-war teams also.
